The HSP was initiated towards the end of 2012 at the Setlabotjha School in Eatonside, a small community in the Sedibeng Western District, Gauteng. The overall strategy of the Homework Support Programme is to support coherent and effective learning with a view to producing substantive educational gains for 160 Intermediate Phase learners from Grades 4-7, boosting capacity in the fields of language and comprehension and generally ensuring that high school readiness and academic results are improved with a view to future success for learners.

EDC, with funding from USAID, will be implementing the School-Based Sexuality and HIV Prevention Education Activity, a 5-year contract that will support the South African Government to reduce HIV infections in students and teachers by assisting the Department of Basic Education to implement high quality, evidence-informed sexuality and HIV prevention education programs.

The Work Package Manager Design, Intervention, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Tools (DIMELT) will be responsible for program execution and delivery of outputs while supporting activities of the cross cutting themes: gender and environmental sustainability mainstreaming. The DIMELT Work Package Manager will design and test innovative tools, based on specific frameworks, that will guide the selection of agriculture investments; the design of context-specific tailored nutrition interventions; and the design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks. The candidate will integrate DIMELT’s work within the ATONU project across the five focal countries. S/he will report directly to the Managing Director, and must be fluent in spoken and written English.
