Request for Proposals: Randomized control study of the Activate! Leadership for Public Innovation Programme

Written by JudyMarieSmith, on 09 September 2013.

The Activate! programme seeks to spark public innovation by charging up a network of young leaders so that they can link the poles of South African society. In order to effectively measure the outcomes of the programme, a robust evaluation framework has been used in both 2012 and 2013. The evaluation has to-date consisted of surveys, behavioural economics games, and network analysis. This evaluation process included the use of a control group selected using matching against relevant socio-economic and demographic information. While this matched control group method has shown some initial effects, the roll-out of a full randomised controlled trial (RCT) will allow for attribution of emerging effects.
